I have a testimonials page, and I proudly share the kind words from the graduate students who achieve their goals with my help. But today I thought I'd share an entire email from a recent graduate (with his permission), to celebrate his achievements and my satisfaction in contributing to them.
I worked with this candidate for more than a year from early drafts of chapters to reviewing the entire thesis for submission. His success in earning his PhD gives me great joy and I hope that his achievement encourages others to keep going and get it done.
This particular email was sent after he published his first journal article. He is a medical scientist whose important research focused on training in specific medical procedures in Africa. The happiness in his email reflects my own:
Hi Elizabeth,
I'm thrilled to inform you that my article has been published in the Advancing Education Journal. Given your invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout my academic journey, I felt it was important to share this milestone with you first.
Your support and insights have been instrumental in helping me reach this point, and I'm grateful for all the time and wisdom you've shared with me. This publication feels like a significant step forward in my career, and I wanted you to know how much your mentorship has contributed to this achievement.
Thank you again for being such an inspiring mentor. I look forward to continuing to learn from you.
