Dr. Elizabeth Wallace, PhD

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself and encourage you to Get in Touch to find out how I can help you to complete your thesis or dissertation.

I was born and raised in the UK, and that's where I developed my love of the English language and learned about the power of words. After emigrating to Canada, I went to Teacher's College, earned an Honours BA in English and Drama, and taught children in Ontario for a while. 

But I soon discovered that I preferred the challenge of working with adults, and after earning my Master's and PhD from the University of Toronto, I continued my career in colleges and universities, first in Ontario and then in British Columbia. As well as teaching English courses of different kinds, including English as a Second Language to new immigrants, I developed a fascination for education technology, and was an early adopter in developing online courses.

After moving to BC, I became a Program Director in the E-Learning Innovations Centre at Simon Fraser University for five years, where I oversaw teams of online course developers, including graphic artists and instructional designers. I then moved to the University of British Columbia Faculty of Graduate Studies. It was a joy to launch and manage what became the award-winning Graduate Pathways to Success program for the over 10,000 Master's and Doctoral students at UBC.

After eight years at UBC working with graduate students on their academic development, leadership skills, career planning and a host of other programs, it was time for me to move on and establish my own PhD Coaching services.  For the past decade, I have been happily working with graduate students across the globe, on all five continents and in all disciplines, from pure and applied sciences and math to social sciences and humanities. 

What do I love most? The opportunity to support the brightest minds on the planet as you overcome barriers to completing your manuscripts.  I learn so much about every subject under the sun and build close friendships with the candidates, often over a couple of years.
